BIOGRAPHY

Sanjay received his Bachelor’s in Physics from Carleton College in 2017 and his PhD in Physics from the University of Iowa in 2024, studying energetic particles in Earth’s magnetosphere. At Rice, he is continuing similar work with Dr. Pat Reiff, using data primarily from NASA’s MMS mission along with a variety of other satellites. He is studying how energy flows throws the magnetosphere and how the sun affects the Earth system, which gives insight into space weather and the affects of solar activity on the ground such as the production of aurora as well as fundamental plasma physics processes. Outside of work, you might find him playing softball, doing trivia, attending a symphony concert, or cooking a new dish.
