BIOGRAPHY
I obtained my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from VJTI in Mumbai, India, followed by both my master's degree and PhD in mechanical engineering from Penn State University. During my PhD, my research centered on understanding brain injuries resulting from head impacts using advanced 3D modeling and simulations. I worked on developing a user-friendly platform designed to predict the brain's response to any head impact. This platform has been successfully adopted by many contact sports teams nationwide, allowing them to better assess injury risks.
At Rice University, I will build upon this foundation in Dr. Raudel Avila's lab. My research will delve into the effects of repetitive head impacts on athletes, with the goal of creating a mathematical model to better predict and analyze cumulative brain damage. This work aims to contribute to improved safety protocols and injury prevention strategies in sports and beyond.
In my spare time I enjoy crocheting, and I am currently working on obtaining a crochet instructor certification.
