BIOGRAPHY

Qinyuan Jiang obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in 2019, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2024. Qinyuan’s doctoral study mainly focuses on the synthesis, properties and applications of ultralong carbon nanotubes. At Rice, Qinyuan is working with Prof. Shengxi Huang (https://scopelab.rice.edu/) to investigate the controlled synthesis and exotic properties of nanostructured topological materials. The goal of this research is to develop novel methodologies for synthesizing topological materials with highly controlled nanostructures, and find their extraordinary physical properties (e.g., electrical and optical) through advanced characterization techniques. This research may give rise to deeper understanding of structure-property relationships in topological systems, as well as the development of (opto)electronic devices with higher performance. Qinyuan’s hobbies include reading and painting.
