BIOGRAPHY

Ido Telem is the Samuel W. and Goldye Marian Spain Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies at Rice University. His teaching and research focus on modern Hebrew and German literature and cultural history from the late eighteenth through the twentieth centuries, with particular emphasis on aesthetics, translation theory and practice, reception studies, and the intersection of literature and philosophy. He earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago in 2025.

Ido’s research has appeared in the Yearbook for European Jewish Literature Studies and Chidushim: Studies in the History of German and Central European Jewry.
