BIOGRAPHY

Allison Raven is thrilled to be back at Rice, where she graduated from Sid Richardson College in 2014. Allison received an MA and a PhD in History from Duke University. While at Rice, she will be working with Dr. Alexander Byrd, who also served as her undergraduate advisor. Allison's dissertation, "Separate but 'Equitable'": Colorblind Progressivism and Resegregation in Austin Schools," examines the end of public school desegregation as an active policy choice rather than an inevitability.
