BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Xiao Zhang received his PhD degree at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in the Interdisciplinary Graduate School (IGS) in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Hua Zhang. Then he continued his research in the same group as a Research Fellow. His previous research mainly focused on ration design, synthesis, and structural engineering of novel layered nanomaterials (e.g., transition metal dichalcogenides, black phosphorus, and metal phosphosulphide etc.) for clean energy conversion and electronic device applications.
 
To further broaden his knowledge on materials science to energy-usage applications, Dr. Xiao Zhang will work with Prof. Haotian Wang in Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, focusing on developing efficient catalysts for producing valuable chemical fuels (e.g., H2O2, HCOOH, CH3COOH, etc.). The current research is highly interdisciplinary, spanning materials science, chemistry, chemical and mechanical engineering.
 
Outside the laboratory, Xiao enjoy sports such as badminton and swimming. Also, enjoying movie is another attractive option.
