Research Interests:

Thomas is a volcanologist who uses a combination of field studies and laboratory experiments to investigate the physical processes that operate during the transport and eruption of magma. As a Research Fellow at Rice University he investigates a wide range of volcanic phenomenon, including the generation of volcanic ash, the ascent of kimberlite and the fluid dynamics of subsurface magma flow.
